Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards for Statutory Board

To bring wider representation and experience into the standards setting process, the Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards for Statutory Boards ("Advisory Committee") has been formed to advise the Accountant-General. The Advisory Committee comprises representatives from various stakeholders such as the Statutory Boards, the public accounting profession, the accounting academia and the Government.

The objective of the Advisory Committee is to advise the Accountant-General in prescribing high quality accounting standards for use by Statutory Boards in Singapore in the preparation of their financial statements, taking into account:

  (a)   The unique characteristics of Statutory Boards, which are constituted under Acts of Parliament and are therefore statutorily accountable to Parliament;
  (b)   Facilitation of comparability, disclosure and transparency; and
  (c)   Comparability with relevant international standards.
